Terms of use.

Last updated 18 October 2026

These terms cover this website and the waitlist. The 豆丁 app for iPhone and iPad is licensed to you by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, which is the agreement that governs your use of the app once you install it.

Who you are dealing with

This site is operated by the maker of 豆丁 / Douding. You can reach us at hello@getdouding.app. By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not, please don’t use it.

What this site describes

Screens shown here are the real interface rather than marketing renders, but the app changes over time — features, content and pricing can all change, and nothing on this site is a commitment that a particular feature will ship or stay. The App Store listing and the app itself are the authority on what 豆丁 does and costs.

The waitlist

  • ·Giving us your address signs you up for one email, sent when 豆丁 reaches the App Store. It is not a newsletter and not a subscription.
  • ·Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. You can also write to us and we will remove you.
  • ·Please use an address you are entitled to use. Submitting someone else’s is not okay.
  • ·We rate limit the form. Automated or repeated submissions may be blocked.

What we do with the address, and for how long, is set out in the privacy notice.

The app, subscriptions and refunds

豆丁 has a free portion and a paid subscription, 会员. Some things follow from Apple being the seller rather than us, and they are worth knowing up front:

  • ·Your licence to use the app is Apple’s Standard EULA, linked above, not these terms.
  • ·Apple takes payment, not us. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings, and that is also where you cancel.
  • ·Both plans begin with a two-week free trial. Apple allows one introductory offer per person per subscription group, so it is one free trial of 豆丁 — not one on each plan.
  • ·Unless you cancel during the trial, it converts to a paid subscription automatically when it ends.
  • ·A subscription renews automatically unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • ·Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. We cannot issue one, though do tell us if something went wrong — it is usually a bug worth fixing.
  • ·Exact prices are shown on the App Store listing and in the app before you are asked to pay.

Step-by-step help with restoring, cancelling and refunds is on the support page.

The writing belongs to us

The poems and idioms 豆丁 teaches are classical and in the public domain. The translations, the retold stories, the usage notes, the dialogues and the design are original work, and they are what the app actually is.

Read them, quote them, say them out loud to people. Please don’t scrape the corpus, republish it, or use it to train a model or build a competing product. If you want to use something in a class or a piece of writing, ask us — the answer is usually yes.

What we don’t promise

This site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it.

豆丁 teaches how phrases are used in ordinary speech, including guidance on when not to use them. That is editorial judgement, offered in good faith and sometimes debatable — it isn’t professional advice, and conversations are your own.

Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes

These terms may change as the app and this site do. The date at the top reflects the current version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
